چکیده

⎯Video tracking is a complex problem because the environment, in which video motion needs to be tracked, is widely varied based on the application and poses several constraints on the design and performance of the tracking system. Current datasets that are used to evaluate and compare video motion tracking algorithms use a cumulative performance measure without thoroughly analyzing the effect of these different constraints imposed by the environment. But it needs to analyze these constraints as parameters. The objective of this paper is to identify these parameters and define quantitative measures for these parameters to compare video datasets for motion tracking. Index Terms⎯Benchmarking, datasets, design, metrics, video tracking. doi: 10.3969/j.issn.1674-862X.2010.03.004

Video Segmentation for Markerless Motion Capture in Unconstrained Environments

Segmentation is a first and important step in video-based motion capture applications. A lack of constraints can make this process daunting and difficult to achieve. We propose a technique that makes use of an improved JSEG procedure in the context of markerless motion capture for performance evaluation of human beings in unconstrained environments. In the proposed algorithm a non-parametric cl...

Visual Coding and Tracking of Speech Related Facial Motion

This article present a visual characterization of facial motions inherent with speaking. We propose a set of four Facial Speech Parameters (FSP): jaw opening, lips rounding, lips closure, and lips raising, to represent the primary visual gestures of speech articulation into a multidimensional linear manifold. This manifold is initially generated as a statistical model, obtained by analyzing acc...

Parametric Motion Models for Video Content Description within the Mpeg-7 Framework

This paper addresses the issue of motion-based description of video contents within the framework of the future MPEG-7 standard. Motion is a highly relevant feature related to the spatio-temporal structure of a video and therefore should play a central role within any attempt of content-based video description. We show that parametric motion models provide a powerful tool for characterizing mot...

روشی جدید برای اختفای خطا در فریم‌های ویدئو با استفاده از شبکه‌ عصبی RBF

Transmission of compressed video over error prone channels may result in packet losses, which can degrade the image quality. Error concealment (EC) is an effective approach to reduce the degradation caused by the missed information. The conventional temporal EC techniques are always inefficient when the motions of the video object are irregular. In this paper, in order to overcome this problem,...

Visual Coding and Tracking of Speech Related Facial Motions

We present a new method for video-based coding of facial motions inherent with speaking. We propose a set of four Facial Speech Parameters (FSP): jaw opening, lip rounding, lip closure, and lip raising, to represent the primary visual gestures in speech articulation. To generate a parametric model of facial actions, first a statistical model is developed by analyzing accurate 3D data of a refer...
